A Note From Heather

A single mom of two kids (now young adults), I’ve weathered financial struggles, divorce and unhealthy relationships, 60-hour-a-week jobs, night classes, all while doing my best to raise children with unique needs. I pivoted careers more than once, even moved away to pursue a master’s degree in my 40s, and felt the panic of losing my identity to that mysterious beast, peri-menopause.

If any of this sounds familiar or relatable: I see you. You aren’t broken; you’re emerging.

Every challenge I overcame chipped away at the self doubt, the fear, the imposter syndrome that had built up over time… little by little uncovering the joyful, resilient woman I am today—and always truly was underneath. Those dumpster fires didn’t consume me; they refined me. By shedding the layers that obscured my inner light, I found the clarity and confidence to pursue my passion and live a life of meaning and purpose. The most authentic version of you is just waiting to be unconcealed, too.

Who I Work With

My practice primarily focuses on cis and transgender women and non-binary femmes navigating major midlife transitions. I feel a special calling to serve this population given my own life experience. But it’s okay if you don’t fit this profile. As an inclusive coach, my clientele includes individuals of all gender identities and life stages—immigrants, graduate students, young professionals, and high performing leaders—seeking clarity and a way back to themselves.

My Approach

Aletheia (al-AY-thÄ«-a) is an Ancient Greek concept meaning “unconcealing”, “disclosing”, or “revealing”. It is the act of uncovering a reality which was previously known but forgotten. Consider that Michelangelo’s statue of David was always within the block of marble. The artist merely chiseled away what did not belong, revealing the masterpiece inside. This knowing—that the most perfect you already exists within you—is the cornerstone of Aletheia Life & Leadership Coaching.

You are a masterpiece. Coaching helps you reclaim the intrinsic you.

Every coaching session is a safe and judgment-free space where you can disconnect from the chaos, rediscover yourself—perhaps after a lifetime of prioritizing others, figure out what really matters to you, and find a way to move closer to the life you envision. Working together we’ll uncover your foundational beliefs and priorities, and align your goals with your values to create a life of meaning and purpose. I act as a partner on your journey, helping you recognize what you’re capable of, design meaningful action steps towards your goals, and stay accountable to yourself.

While I may not share your lived experience, I promise to listen deeply, learn continuously, and center your narrative. Recognizing that systemic barriers exist, I am here to support you and actively work to ensure my coaching methods are culturally responsive.

Core Values

I come to coaching with the belief that all people inherently possess the creativity and resourcefulness to guide themselves, and that they are the sole authority on their own well-being. My life—and my coaching practice—is guided by the principles of:

  • Curiosity: an eager wish to know or learn about something;

  • Compassion: the sympathetic consciousness of others' distress together with a desire to alleviate it;

  • Self Agency: the capacity, condition, or state of acting or of exerting power over one’s circumstances;

  • Self Improvement: activities that develop a person's capabilities and potential, enhance quality of life, and facilitate the realization of dreams and aspirations; and

  • Accountability: the act of being responsible for what one does and able to provide a satisfactory reason for it.

I uphold the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Code of Ethics and adhere to the ICF Core Values of Professionalism, Collaboration, Humanity, and Equity.

Professional Experience

There was no single moment when I decided to become a coach; I’ve been unofficially coaching since elementary school. Wherever I find myself, people confide in me, talk through ideas with me, and seek comfort from me. Strangers stop me in public to share intimate details of their lives so often my kids refer to this as a “Heather moment”. While the word “Coach” is a new title for me, it’s always been at the core of my identity.

That said, innate ability and life experience only take a coach—and their clients—so far. To elevate my practice and make coaching truly transformative, I’m engaged in professional coaching education and pursuing a meaningful coaching certification. In April 2026 I will complete the Institute for Coaching Excellence’s Level 2 Life, Leadership, & Executive Coach training program, which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). The program qualifies me to pursue credentialing as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the ICF, validating my expertise through rigorous, evidence-based assessments. Considered the "gold standard" in coaching, the ICF is dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high ethical standards, providing independent certification, and building a global network of trained professionals.
